Russia's defence minister, Anatoly Serdyukov, has called for an immediate cease-fire in Libya. His US counterpart, Robert Gates, who's visiting Moscow, says he expects the conflict in Libya, to calm over the coming days.
Serdyukov told the US Defence Secretary that an immediate cease-fire, was the best way to avoid civilian casualties. Serdyukov urged western coalition forces, to stop "unacceptable hostilities" as soon as possible.
Gates, responded that the coalition has been trying to avoid civilian deaths, and he charged that Libyan leader Gadhafi is lying about the number of casualties. Gates is on a three-day trip to Russia. He's also scheduled, to meet with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
